On February 13th, GBCA’s Construction Leadership Council (CLC) hosted a Casual Conversation at Drexel University featuring Kate Flint, an engineer with Turner Construction Company. Speaking with a Building Materials class, Kate shared her experiences in the construction industry, highlighted key projects she has worked on, and answered students’ questions about career paths and industry trends.
During the discussion, Kate emphasized the growing importance of sustainable materials and green building certifications, including LEED, WELL, and the Living Building Challenge. She provided insight into how these standards are shaping modern construction practices and the increasing demand for sustainable solutions.
Kate also offered valuable career advice, giving students a real-world perspective on opportunities in the field and what to expect as they enter the industry.
