Job Summary
Newport Construction Management Corp is seeking a qualified & experienced individual for a General Construction Superintendent position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage & Maintain CPM schedule with Project Manager.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of on-site construction.
- Schedule manpower, subcontractors, consultants, and vendors within the critical path to ensure
timely completion. - Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
- Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst subcontractors, vendors, and project
stakeholders. - Communicate with project team regarding RFI’s, material submittals, and change orders.
- Ensure that manpower is fully executing and complying with the contracted scope of work.
- Coordinate required inspections.
- Identify labor/subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality
standards. - Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project management
team for resolution. - Maintain daily logs (written) of activities on the jobsite.
- Preside over weekly foreman meetings designed to coordinate workflow, eliminate potential
clash, and reinforce project goals. - Perform job progress, QC/QA, and punch list identification/ execution.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years construction industry experience in previous Superintendent role.
- OSHA 10 to 30 Certifications.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, or other PM software applications.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and
- maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with office support staff.
- Ability to speak professionally before client(s) and employees of organization.
- Ability to lift 100 pounds, walk, crawl, and climb a ladder.
- Current Driver’s License & background check required.
