Labor

GBCA is the most recognized and trusted liaison between management and labor in the Philadelphia region and beyond. Its influence in labor relations spans 19 counties throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland, and affect the lives of thousand of trades people and apprenticeship trainees every year. It holds trusteeships on 15 Taft-Hartley Health, Welfare, Pension, Vacation and Apprenticeship Funds.

The goals of the Labor department include:

  • Facilitating job disputes according to labor agreements.
  • Supporting apprenticeship programs for the five basic trades.
  • Promoting apprenticeship programs to increase enrollment and educate owners on the value of a skilled workforce.
  • Continuing to develop a Competitive Adjustments Program in the suburban counties.
  • Engaging in effective dialogue with other bargaining groups in the Delaware Valley.
  • Increasing job availability through the promotion of concrete construction on upcoming project.
