Carpenters from Local 158 stepped up in January and February to help Ronald McDonald House by helping to move in and install new furniture as it assisted with the final touches of a four-year renovation process.

The Ronald McDonald House, 39th and Chestnut Streets, is in West Philadelphia. It provides housing to children and families while they have treatment at local hospitals for serious illnesses.

The renovation will double Ronald McDonald’s House capacity. “This expansion will enable us to grow from serving approximately 800 families each year, to an estimated 1,900 families, and increasing our available room nights from 16,000 to more than 40,000 per year,” according to [Susan Campbell, CEO of] Ronald McDonald House.

“Carpenters local 158 were happy to provide support and expertise in moving in and then installing the furniture on this new addition,” said Carpenter Council representative Shawn Anderson.
