The holiday season for most people is a fun time of the year filled with parties, celebrations, and social gatherings with family and friends. For some, however, it is not so joyous, and this may lead to other issues that can affect work and home life.

Depression is a year-round issue, but can be more challenging during the holidays. Substance abuse, as related to mental health issues, can also become more serious in times of stress, or even situations where drugs and alcohol are more readily available, such as holiday parties.

We encourage everyone to be aware of the signs of the depression and substance abuse: we hope to help everyone recognize if friends or colleagues may be struggling.
