On Monday, July 16, GBCA hosted two training sessions for its new Silica Safety Program. GBCA members signed up for the Silica Safety Program learned how to use the silica monitoring equipment from Bill Walsh of SGS Galson. The training sessions included a brief review of OSHA’s silica regulation, hands-on demonstrations of the monitoring equipment, and time to ask questions about using the equipment in the field.
