Maura Hesdon is the General Manager of Shoemaker Construction Co. and has more than 20 years of leadership experience working within the construction industry.
In her role, Maura provides executive management oversight, ensuring overall project and corporate success as well as customer satisfaction. She facilitates teamwork between all disciplines of the project teams and serves as the Owner’s executive-level contact with Shoemaker.
Maura has overseen the successful completion of 44 projects valued at more than $1 billion. Using this wealth of experience, she has helped project teams deftly navigate potential challenges that might otherwise delay the Owner’s project or add unnecessary expenses to the budget.
Away from the work site, Maura is also a regional leader in the pursuit of making the construction industry more accessible.
In 2009, she co-founded a day camp where school-aged girls are introduced to possible careers within the industry. In 2018 Maura also created the NAWIC Philadelphia Foundation to house the Mentoring Young Women in Construction (MyWIC) Philadelphia program.
Maura represents several industry organizations to develop an innovative construction industry that will impact local community institutions and residents. She also works with Drexel University, The School District of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Housing Authority to increase workforce development and diversity within the construction industry.
