During AGC’s three-day, dynamic Leadership in Construction Workshop participants will identify key leadership concepts, explore the difference between leadership and management, examine an effective model for conflict resolution, and develop strategies for dealing with members of a project team. Communication skills and conflict resolution techniques and tactics will be strengthened through group exercises and discussion of real-world experiences. A variety of personal assessment instruments will be used along with construction-related scenarios, videos and activities that reinforce the learning experience.

Leadership is the key to motivating 21st century project teams to achieve excellence for the project, company and client. Success in the competitive construction industry depends on effective teams of diverse individuals working toward common goals.

Damon Walker

I want to thank the GBCA for promoting safety, education and technology for all the members. I attended some UAS flight classes (Unmanned Aerial Systems) at the University of Delaware.

These classes helped prepare me for the part 107 UAS Pilot License. The use of drone technology is increasing and I have used it to conduct safety inspections, qc inspections and video mapping.

I have also taken a number of construction safety classes to strengthen my foundation in safety. The GBCA’s tuition reimbursement program allows me to continue my education and widen my skill sets in areas that I may  not have otherwise been afforded. This has made me a better Safety Manager.

Damon Walker, Safety Manager

The knowledge and insight I’ve gained at Drexel University, made possible through GBCA’s tuition reimbursement program helped immensely in advancing my construction career.
