Through endowments made by AGC members and supporters, as well as AGC Chapters, the AGC Education and Research Foundation is able to give 150 or more undergraduate and graduate scholarships each year to deserving students. Since 1970, AGC has awarded over 4,000 scholarships totaling over $10 million. Scholarship candidates are evaluated for their academic success, their commitment to the industry through participation in campus professional organizations, summer or part-time work in the construction industry, and their goals for the future.
GBCA and the family of B. Scott Holloway have endowed three scholarships for students in the Philadelphia Region (Pennsylvania).
The scholarships for undergraduates are $2,500 per year ($1,250 if you have half a semester) and can be renewed for up to three years. Graduate awards are $3,750 annually up to a maximum of $7,500.
Applications will be accepted from July 1, 2019 to November 1, 2019 (by midnight EST).
This scholarship is for the 2020-2021 academic year that begins fall 2020. If you are selected as a finalist, you will be notified in February 2020. The next step is an interview with a contractor in your area. Following the interview, scholarship recipients will be selected and announced in March 2020. Students will receive their awards in the fall of 2020.
Two things to remember:
- You must meet the criteria to apply as an Undergraduate or Graduate.
- Make sure that your recommenders (one teacher and one employer) know that you are requesting their recommendation. Your application is not considered submitted until all sections are complete and you hit the ‘Submit’ button at the bottom of the page. You will receive a confirmation email when your application has been submitted.
