AGC Workforce Development Scholarship

The AGC Education and Research Foundation is committed to taking steps to ensure students have the technical skills needed to immediately enter into the commercial construction workforce. They offer a Workforce Development Scholarships to students enrolled in accredited technical schools or craft training programs in any discipline of commercial construction. Students in technical or approved craft training programs will have until June 1st to apply for $1,000 scholarships (renewal for up to two years) from the AGC Education and Research Foundation.

On May 7, 2019, GBCA members gathered for a Technology Lunch & Learn: Making Safety Training Safer with Virtual and Augmented Reality. Held at the Carpenters Health & Welfare Fund, the event featured presentations and demonstrations from Shawn MacDonald, Safety Director for Superior Scaffold Services, and Daniel Stein, Product Manager of Virtual Reality for NextWave Safety. The event was moderated by Rob Smith, Supervisor of Instruction from the Carpenters NJ/MD/DC Apprentice Training Funds.

Drexel University Construction Management Program Honors AGC Award Winners

On May 1, 2019, Drexel University’s Construction Management Program held a celebration to honor department members honored by the Associated General Contractors of America, as well as Pat Pasquariello, III, the Dragon Exemplar Award recipient, the department’s Senior Awards recipients, and the students who were inducted into the Construction Honor Society.
