On Thursday, April 18, 2019, the two All-Female teams of the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Philadelphia took a tour of the newly renovated Metropolitan Opera House of Philadelphia. The tour was hosted by EB Realty Management (Owner’s Representative), Domus Construction (General Contractor), and GBCA member Smith Flooring, Inc. (Flooring Contractor).

After the tour, the teams had a discussion about women in the building industry. Angelique Hunter, Marketing Director for Smith Flooring, Inc., and Heather Jones, Local 251 Floor Layer and Foreman for Smith Flooring, Inc. in the Met Philly project, spoke about how they got into the construction industry.

Heather is currently a Journeyman Carpenter, and will be competing at the Carpenters JAC Open House on May 3, 2019 (8am-5pm at 10401 Decatur Road, Philadelphia). Congratulations on completing your apprenticeship, Heather, and we wish you luck at the competition!
