In a recent CDC Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, the construction and extraction industries in the US had the highest rates of suicide among male workers between 2012 and 2015. The data came from 17 states*.

Several construction associations, including the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), have formed the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention. Associations in this coalition seek to identify and provide resources to industry workers to help them adopt healthier everyday practices and access mental health resources when necessary.
