On May 17, 2019, LF Driscoll celebrated the topping off of Penn First, a Penn Medicine project being done as a joint venture with Balfour Beatty US.

Two beams were raised: one, that was signed by members of the Penn Medicine community and adorned with a replica of the statue of Ben Franklin on a bench that sits on Locust Walk; and a second beam, signed by Penn First project workers, and adorned with the US flag and a tree symbolizing zero fatalities during the project’s steel erection by iron workers.

The topping off ceremony took place during LF Driscoll’s Safety Day and Safety Stand Down.
