Shoemaker Construction Co., as part of The Butz Family of Companies, is pleased to announce the hiring of Wyatt Hall as a project engineer and Damon Walker as a site safety manager.
Hall has a Masters in Construction Management, with a concentration in Sustainable Green Construction from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Juniata College. He earned certifications from the American Concrete Institute, Safe Land USA and is adept at Building Information Modeling (BIM).
As a project engineer, he is responsible for checking, tracking and monitoring all shop drawings and submittals, tracking all RFI’s, assisting in updating CPM construction schedules, and attending weekly trade contractor coordination meetings. Wyatt also performs field quality control inspections and analyzes potential change directives in support of the project superintendent and the project manager. Wyatt will handle all aspects of the underground piping replacement project at Perth Place in the Philadelphia Housing Authority’s Spring Garden Apartments.
Walker has more than 10 years of experience as a construction professional and is a certified OSHA Instructor. He is certified as a Hazardous Materials Supervisor, Lead Inspector / Risk Assessor and in asbestos abatement. He is proficient in the areas of occupational safety and health management, construction/emergency management services, safety prevention programs, and worker’s compensation claims management.
He is assigned to the second shift construction for transformation of The Gallery into the Fashion District Philadelphia. Responsibilities include providing safety leadership, knowledge and coordination to project managers and field personnel, conducting and documenting routine safety inspections, enforcing site specific as well as OSHA rules and regulations and working with all subcontractors to ensure adherence to the site rules and regulations.
