Skanska USA’s Philadelphia office has been awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces honor by Philadelphia Media Network. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Energage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”

“We’re thrilled to be recognized by Philadelphia Media Network as a top workplace,” said Skanska USA Executive Vice President and General Manager Ed Szwarc. “We will continue to offer programs and benefits that enable us to recruit, hire and support the best talent in the area.”

Skanska’s Philadelphia office is committed to investing heavily in training and continued education to ensure employees gain the skills they need. In 2017, Skanska created an in-house apprenticeship program where younger employees shadow experienced tradesmen to receive on-the-ground training. Additionally, internal resource groups such as the Skanska Women’s Network provide mentoring, training and guidance to all employees across many professional development areas.
