At the 2019 National Convention of the Associated General Contractors, Matt Steere, Construction Strategist at Autodesk, and Aaron Phillips, VDC Director at Danis Building Construction Co., spoke about how successful companies usually have leaders who create a culture that grows talent and fosters innovation.

An important takeaway was that leadership should view innovation as something that comes from the ground, up. Changes such as implementing new technologies should not be presented as new, imposed expectations, but as tools for workers, who can then provide feedback on how processes can incorporate the new tools. Innovations such as technology implementation should be presented as bringing value, not as a burden.
