On April 13, GBCA held its first Eggs with OSHA of 2022. Many thanks to our sponsor, Herman Goldner Co., Inc.!

Attendees met one of OSHA’s new local representatives, Bret Robinson, who with James Touey and Theresa Downs, gave updates about OSHA’s activities and upcoming campaigns. In particular, OSHA reminded GBCA’s contactors that this summer, job sites will need more than just water to keep workers safe from heat hazards. In response, GBCA will continue sharing resources on how to provide water, rest, and shade to workers, as well as how to prevent dehydration and heat-related illnesses.

OSHA also introduced and discussed its new alliance with the International Union of Elevator Constructors.

GBCA’s Safety Consultant, Joe Healy, ended the session with a refresher on flagging safety and traffic safety. April is OSHA’s Struck-by Hazards awareness month, and traffic around jobsites is leading cause of struck-by incidents in construction.
