In addition to the Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Forum, AGC of America recently launched a new effort to combat the high suicide rates and improve mental health among construction workers. As part of this effort, they are releasing a series of mental health PSA’s that show all sides of mental health issues in the industry, including those struggling firsthand with addiction and mental illness, those concerned for a co-worker that they believe may be grappling with these issues, and what strong leadership and supporting staff can do for helping our people feel comfortable enough to seek help when they need it.
AGC is hoping that through sharing these stories, our industry workers will better understand that there are others out there who may have similar struggles, that they are not alone, and it is okay to ask for support. AGC asks that you please utilize these videos and share all available resources so that in the event one of your member companies needs assistance, they know where to turn.
GBCA also has several toolbox talks dedicated to issues of mental health and substance abuse.
