On Saturday, May 2, GBCA partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to host the Greater Philadelphia Construction Hike for Hope at Wissahickon Valley Park.

The event brought together GBCA members and industry partners to raise awareness and support suicide prevention efforts within the construction industry. The initiative promotes education, intervention, and postvention strategies while empowering individuals to serve as mental health champions across the workforce.

The morning began with opening remarks from AFSP and GBCA, followed by a three-mile group hike through the park. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with fellow industry professionals while demonstrating their support for an important cause. Skanska also served as a sponsor, helping to advance the mission and impact of the event.

The Construction Hike for Hope reflects the industry’s ongoing commitment to prioritizing mental health and fostering a stronger culture of care across the workforce.
