Join CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training for a webinar exploring new research on the serious and under-addressed issue of noise-induced hearing loss in construction.

Half of all construction workers—nearly six million people—experience job-related hearing problems. According to the latest edition of CPWR’s Construction Chart Book, construction workers are 1.7 times more likely to report poor hearing than those outside the industry.

Findings from CPWR’s Building Trades National Medical Screening (BTMed) program, based on health screenings of more than 20,000 construction workers, reveal a troubling connection: hearing loss is not only widespread in the industry, but it’s also linked to increased risks of mortality and dementia.
