On Tuesday, June 25, the General Building Contractors Association (GBCA) held its second Eggs with OSHA event of the year, dedicated to raising awareness about job site safety technologies. The event featured several expert speakers and highlighted the importance of leveraging modern technology to enhance safety on construction sites.

OSHA representative Theresa Downs kicked off the event with an update on heat safety. She provided valuable information on various safety apps, such as the OSHA Heat App and the National Weather Service App, which are designed to help workers monitor and manage heat-related risks.

Matt Ries from NovaCare Rehabilitation followed with an insightful presentation on cardiovascular health, emphasizing the importance of hydration, exercise, and nutrition. He also shared tips on maintaining safe blood pressure and introduced several apps for phones and smartwatches that can assist individuals in staying on track with their health goals.

Ed Christy from INTECH Construction concluded the presentations with a focus on fall protection. He discussed various apps that promote safety in the workplace, underscoring the critical role of technology in preventing accidents and injuries.

This Eggs with OSHA event successfully highlighted the significant role of technology in improving job site safety and provided attendees with practical tools and knowledge to enhance their health and well-being.
