GBCA Director of Public Affairs and Philadelphia Housing Authority Commissioner Erin Dwyer Harvard joined local, state, and federal leaders for the ceremonial groundbreaking of the first phase of the Westpark Apartments redevelopment in West Philadelphia.
The project will deliver 327 new homes, with nearly 140 reserved for returning residents and 190 affordable to households earning between 20–80% of the area median income. In addition to new housing, the first phase includes more than an acre of open space, a new pedestrian plaza connected to the 46th & Market SEPTA station, retail space for local businesses, and a community center offering on-site services.
The redevelopment represents a significant investment in housing access, infrastructure, and long-term community growth in West Philadelphia.
