On March 12, GBCA attended the Senior Success Seminar at the Laborers’ Training Center, an event designed to introduce local high school students to career opportunities in construction, design, and manufacturing.
GBCA joined a range of industry partners and trades, including the Bellwether District, IBEW Local 98, District Council 21 Finishing Trades, Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, the Laborers’ Union, the City of Philadelphia, Transport Workers Union Local 234, and Turner Construction Company, which sponsored the event.
Approximately 120 students from Philadelphia high schools participated, visiting exhibitor tables to learn about various career pathways within the industry. Students also heard from Angelina Perryman of Perryman Construction, who shared insights from her experience and offered guidance on building a successful career in construction.
