On May 25, 2023, Greg Laska, Vice President Operations at Graboyes Commercial Window and Glass Solutions, visited students in Mayfair Middle School’s Career Technical Education (CTE) program. Greg appeared on the students’ construction industry-themed podcast, Dope Students Podcast, and shared his story in the industry.
Greg also spoke more casually with students about careers in the building trades and helped out with a hands-on lesson. The class, led by Mr. Evin Jarrett, is part of the only CTE program currently in the City of Philadelphia.
This summer, Mr. Jarrett is hosting a summer camp where students will attempt to build a mini house in the school’s parking lot. The school has materials for the building’s foundation, but they are looking for donations of other construction materials.
