On November 20, GBCA hosted an Eggs & Insights program at the Laborers’ Training Center in Philadelphia. Attendees gathered for breakfast and a focused conversation on supporting employees’ mental health, connecting workers with resources, and building a stronger culture of wellness on the jobsite.

Mary Pat Geppert, President of Geppert Bros., Inc. and Chair of GBCA’s Safety Committee, opened the program by sharing personal stories about her connection to Buddy Osborn and the meaningful support he has provided to Geppert Bros. employees over the past year.

Buddy Osborn, founder and pastor of Rock Ministries of Philadelphia, spoke about practical steps workers can take to protect their well-being, the ways employers can help, and his own journey from union roofer to ministry leader. As the chaplain for the Philadelphia Building Trades, he emphasized the importance of listening, showing up for one another, and recognizing when colleagues may be struggling.

Louis DeSanto, Director of Corporate Partnerships at Caron Treatment Centers, closed the session with guidance on supporting employees through mental health challenges, responding to crises, and encouraging open, honest conversations across the workforce.
