Late February, Governor Josh Shapiro and DCED Secretary Rick Siger unveiled the Pennsylvania Economic Development Strategy. The ten-year plan elevates the Commonwealth as a national and global competitor in business.

With the goal of invigorating our economy, the plan focuses on five high value sectors: Agriculture, Energy, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, and Robotics and Technology. With these sectors in mind, the Shapiro administration will invest in new opportunities, accelerate government timelines, increase pathways for workforce, encourage innovation, and expand business-friendly regions around the Commonwealth.

GBCA strongly supports Governor Shapiro’s Economic Development Strategy. The thoughtful plan creates resources for site development, labor, and innovation to generate many more opportunities for our industry and membership.

GBCA looks forward to working with Governor Shapiro and Secretary Siger to implement this plan.
