Gilbane Building Company is investing in the future of small and diverse businesses through its Rising Contractor Program, a professional development initiative designed to strengthen and expand relationships with emerging trade partners.
Through 10 weeks of interactive learning, participants gain insight into key areas of construction management — including financial strength, risk management, business development, prequalification, safety, and innovation. Each session is led by Gilbane subject matter experts, combining virtual instruction with in-person orientation and graduation events.
Upon completion, graduates enter a one-year mentorship with a senior Gilbane leader and prequalify for future bid opportunities. The program fosters long-term partnerships, helping small businesses build capacity and compete for major projects.
Since its inception, the program has supported 364 Rising Contractors and connected them with 211 Gilbane mentors, creating a meaningful pipeline for growth and inclusion in the construction industry.
