Hunter Roberts recently announced the successful completion of the transformation of the historic Alison Building — once home to Barnes & Noble — into Borromini, a new Italian trattoria from restaurateur Stephen Starr. Located in the heart of Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square, Borromini brings modern elegance and vibrant energy to a landmark property.

The renovation delivers a rich dining experience, featuring multiple bars and dining rooms across two floors, a state-of-the-art kitchen equipped with pasta-making and butchering stations, and a 32-seat sidewalk patio along Walnut Street. From early demolition through full build-out, the project blends the Alison Building’s historic character with modern sophistication, creating a vibrant new destination for the city’s dining scene.
