The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 542 is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, James Reilley was inaugurated as Business Manager. Jim, a 44-year member, has served as President for the last 15 years and as a Business Agent for 30 years. As President and Business Agent, Jim worked tirelessly alongside former Business Manager Bob Heenan to strengthen our Local.
“It is my great honor to be elected as Business Manager of Local 542. I’d like to thank our members for their support during this transition. Without them there would be no Union and we need to remain united in our solidarity to ensure our future success,” Jim said. “As Business Manager I promise to steadfastly uphold the ideals of our Union and to continue the long tradition of fighting for our members’ rights.”
Daniel Sullivan was elected to serve in the role of President. Dan is a 35-year member and has served as Coordinator/Director of the JATC for the last seven years.
Additionally, James Gittens – Vice President; Robert Walsh – Recording Secretary; James Jones – Treasurer; and Vincent Ascione – Financial Secretary, were reinstated in their roles.
