On Saturday, January 14, 2023, GBCA, the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, and Clemens Construction Company hosted a Day of Service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. At the event, students of the Carpenters’ Apprentice Ready Program (CARP, a pre-apprentice program training women, people of color, and other individuals facing barriers to employment in the building trades) and volunteer union carpenters built flower boxes to be distributed in Philadelphia neighborhoods.
