The Pennsylvania Convention Center has unveiled a new on-site training center designed to offer staff and labor partners, including Laborers’ International Local 332, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 98, and Iron Workers Local 405, programs centered around safety, technical skill development, and customer service. This initiative, known as the HIAT Fund, aims to enhance training opportunities for labor personnel in three key areas: safety, technical skills, and customer service/hospitality.

Safety Programs: These programs offer participants the chance to obtain both general and specialized Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety certifications.

Skills Training: Coordinated with contractors in the convention and meeting industry, such as Installation & Dismantle (I&D) and Decorator companies, this training ensures the workforce receives the latest technical education. This equips them to deliver the most efficient and cost-effective builds possible.

Hospitality Programs: These programs provide labor partners with the skills necessary to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Training emphasizes the importance of prioritizing customers, maintaining a positive attitude and engagement, and committing to success.
