Congratulations to our Philadelphia region students who were awarded scholarships from the AGC Education and Research Foundation! These scholarships are awarded to post-secondary students studying in construction-related fields and are valued at $2,500 per year.

Hannah Iezzoni of Villanova University was awarded the AGC Education and Research Foundation Scholarship and Paul Sankan of Temple University was awarded the Caswell F. Jr. & Marie B. Holloway Scholarship Fund.

Hannah Iezzoni, P.E. is a part-time doctoral student at Villanova University focusing on Geotechnical Engineering. She also works full-time at Keller North America as a design engineer supporting the small-diameter drilling and earth retention markets in the North East Business Unit. While juggling coursework with full time work, she also is actively involved with the Deep Foundations Institute as chair of the Augered Cast-in-Place and Drilled Displacement Pile technical committee. She is also involved with the Women in Construction roundtable hosted by the Association of Drilled Shaft Contractors. Obtaining her PhD will support her continued career in the advancement and innovation of the geotechnical construction industry.

Paul Sankan is a Senior at Temple University in Philadelphia, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology. He is an active member of his universities local chapters such as, the National Society of Black Engineers, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Upon completion of his degree, Paul aims to mentor youth who seek to pursue an education in STEM related fields, alongside volunteering at local charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.
