Even after OSHA implemented its silica standard, silica is a major issue for all levels of construction, even down to the finishes, such as manufacturing kitchen countertops. OSHA is seeking the industry’s help to ensure that its Silica Standard Table 1 is effective.

OSHA issued a request for information (RFI) seeking input on the possibility of expanding the current Table 1 of the silica standard for construction to include additional engineering and/or work practice controls. It has also asked for input on potentially expanding the current Table 1 with equipment/tasks that is not included but should/could be included.

AGC of America has created a short survey to compile members’ feedback for OSHA.
