Congratulations to Steven Gobac-Semple of Skanska USA for being named a 2025 Connect CRE Next Generation Award recipient! This national honor recognizes rising professionals under 35 who are shaping the future of the built environment through innovation, leadership, and industry impact.
As a Senior Estimator, Steven has led preconstruction efforts on 25 to 30 projects this year alone—ranging from $1 million to $50 million—primarily in the biomedical, life sciences, and higher education sectors. But his influence extends far beyond numbers and drawings.
A passionate advocate for inclusive workplaces, Steven has spearheaded Skanska’s local diversity and inclusion initiatives and founded a Philadelphia-based LGBTQ+ networking group for AEC professionals. He also co-chairs the firm’s Charity Challenge Golf Outing, supporting community nonprofits.
Steven remains deeply engaged with the next generation of builders as a mentor in Drexel University’s Construction Management Program. He volunteers his time and expertise to support students and serves in leadership roles with both GBCA and the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
His dedication has earned recognition throughout the region, including Skanska’s Outstanding Leader Award and GBCA’s Construction Excellence Award for Commitment to Community Excellence.
