GBCA is dedicated to helping create a skilled workforce, and opportunities for workers to get the training they need to become construction leaders. GBCA is currently supporting Carpenters seeking to become superintendents through the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) Superintendent Career Training in Las Vegas, NV.

The Carpenters International Training Fund’s Superintendent Career Training (SCT) is an 18-month classroom and on-the-job instructional program that prepares SCT participants to be highly skilled construction industry professionals.

In 2020, UBC is offering 6 Superintendent Trainings (start dates):

  • February 13-15
  • May 14-16
  • June 25-27
  • July 23-25
  • Oct 15-17
  • Dec 10-12

* The UBC covers all costs for the program, including room, meals and airfare.

To attend this program, the trainee must:

  • Be a UBC Journeyman in good standing.
  • Be sponsored by a signatory contractor (your contractor will be working with you throughout the program).
  • Be employed in a supervisory position with your contractor, such as a lead or general foreman.
  • Have an OSHA 30 Construction card before signing up for class.

The trainee attends four sessions, each one approximately six months apart. The trainee sessions are Thursday – Saturday. The mentor attends Program 1 and 3 with their trainee, with class starting at 12:45 pm on Friday and ending at 3:35 pm on Saturday.

Between sessions, the trainee and mentor work together on the job to complete required course projects. The mentor is someone chosen by the signatory contractor that would mentor the trainee throughout the entire eighteen months. One mentor can have up to three trainees.
*On the registration form, the mentor and company contact cannot be the same person.
