Philadelphia in the wake of a global health crisis, has transformed itself into a national hub for the development of life sciences over the course of the last few years. This can be attributed to the extraordinary strides in research courtesy of the city’s plethora of academic and medical institutions. Thanks to this research, the private sector has responded by developing several million square feet of space for labs, offices, and even manufacturing. The epicenter of this development takes place in University City where projects are proceeding on properties largely held by Drexel University, the University of Pennsylvania. Working with private developers, these institutions in conjunction with Schuylkill Yards, UCity Square, and Pennovision, have created a new eco-system of innovation around their campuses.
