On February 27, GBCA members and safety professionals gathered at IBEW Local 98’s facility in the Navy Yard for the first Wings with OSHA—a refreshed version of the former Eggs with OSHA event, featuring a new time and format. The discussion focused on PPE compliance and combating jobsite complacency, providing attendees with valuable safety insights while enjoying networking and chicken wings.

The program kicked off with remarks from Mary Pat Geppert, Safety Committee Chair, followed by Bret Robinson from OSHA, who provided key safety updates and emphasized the importance of PPE compliance in maintaining a safe jobsite.

The event also featured:

  • Terence McGovern (of Med-Tex Services, Inc. led a session on proper PPE fit, inviting volunteers to try on PPE for a hands-on experience.
  • Keith Davis of Hunter Roberts shared best practices for implementing cut-resistant gloves to prevent injuries.
  • Kristin Pelusi of Geppert Bros., Inc. conducted a PPE demonstration, highlighting the importance of proper sizing, particularly for women in the industry.
