GBCA is proud to give a GBCA Project Safety Award to Clemens Construction Company, Inc. for its renovation work at Boyds on 1818 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia. Clemens served as the General Contractor and the Carpentry Subcontractor on the project. Boyds Realty Partnership is the owner.

The Boyds renovation took just under 16,500 hours as general contractor, and just under 7,000 hours as carpentry subcontractor. The project had no OSHA-recorded incidents and met all other safety award criteria. One of the major challenges to the project was that the store was still open to the public during the renovation, meaning that construction crews not only had to keep themselves safe, but the store’s employees and customers as well.

Congratulations to Clemens for this outstanding achievement!
