OSHA’s Focus Four Campaign is underway. GBCA and OSHA want to encourage improved safety in construction by facilitating conversations about safety on job sites. Over the next four months, GBCA is joining OSHA in focusing construction safety conversations around OSHA’s Focus Four Hazards: Fall Hazards, Caught-In or -Between Hazards, Struck-by Hazards, and Electrocution Hazards. One way that we are doing that is by sharing Toolbox Talks for our members to share with Safety Directors, Managers, and Workers. We are also sharing stories about how our members promote safety on the job site.

GBCA wants to hear members’ stories and campaigns that promote safety in the workplace. Here, we feature Belcher Roofing’s “I Pledge” campaign.

Belcher Roofing Corporation

Belcher Roofing’s Safety Department, led by Bill Reis, is continuing its successful Safety Campaign based on the concept of “I Pledge…” It encourages the men and women on the job to pledge to be safe. The message varies – from pledging to wear safety glasses, to looking out for one another. Workers wear shirts branded with the pledge (pictured above) to remind each other of the importance of safety.

If you have a safety program that promotes safety culture, and has led to decreasing the number of accidents on the job site, please share them! Contact Lauren at ltosti@64.207.152.120.
