GBCA has partnered with the Philadelphia Business Journal to highlight Philadelphia’s commercial construction industry. We are regularly producing editorial content online about issues in construction and how GBCA members are addressing them.

This week, GBCA highlighted the importance of building up the next generation of construction leaders. The article features comments from several GBCA members and allied partners:

From the Philadelphia Business Journal:

By many measures, the future looks bright for the construction industry. Construction employment increased by 16,000 jobs nationally in March and by 246,000 jobs, or 3.4 percent, over the past year, according to an analysis of new government data by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).

However, one fundamental, existential concern continues to become pressing: who will be leading the charge in the many years to come?

Now, as many construction veterans face imminent retirement; we will soon say goodbye to leaders who grew up in the trades, came up through the ranks and patiently made names for themselves by dedicating decades to building their careers.
