On February 9, GBCA gathered to celebrate our 2025 successes and look ahead to an exciting year ahead at our Annual Meeting.
This year’s event marked a leadership transition on our Board of Directors. We extend our sincere gratitude to Maura Hesdon, General Manager of Shoemaker Construction Co., for her dedicated service as Chairman. Over the past year, Maura’s leadership helped advance GBCA’s advocacy efforts, workforce development initiatives, and member engagement, strengthening the Association and the industry.
We are proud to welcome Angelo Perryman, President & CEO of Perryman Construction, as GBCA’s new Chairman of the Board. A second-generation construction leader with more than 35 years of industry experience, Angelo brings a strong commitment to union construction, workforce development, and public-private collaboration. We look forward to his leadership as GBCA continues to grow and advance the industry across the Greater Philadelphia region.
Congratulations to Joe Clearkin, this year’s GBCA Distinguished Director Award honoree. Joe’s leadership and longstanding commitment to GBCA and the construction community exemplify the dedication and service this award represents. We are proud to recognize his meaningful contributions to the Association and the industry.
We were also honored to welcome Commander Kirk Lippold, USN (Ret.), former Commanding Officer of the USS Cole, as our keynote speaker. Commander Lippold led the USS Cole when it came under a terrorist attack in 2000 and is widely recognized for the leadership and resilience demonstrated by him and his crew in saving the ship. Today, he is a sought-after leadership speaker, and his remarks on courage, accountability, and decisive leadership left a lasting impression on our members.
Thank you to all who attended and made this Annual Meeting a success. We look forward to another year of collaboration, leadership, and excellence in union construction.
