GBCA is proud to support Mentoring Young Women in Construction (MyWIC), a program introducing young women across the Philadelphia region to careers in the skilled trades.
MyWIC is currently seeking volunteers for this year’s summer camps. Industry professionals at all levels are encouraged to get involved and help mentor campers throughout the program. To learn more or sign up, please visit the MyWIC Camp Volunteer page.
MyWIC is a free, hands-on construction camp for girls in grades 7–12, offering real-world exposure to the industry through interactive projects, mentorship, and skill-building activities. Campers gain experience using tools, working as a team, and exploring career paths in construction.
Volunteers play an important role in creating a supportive and engaging environment. Camp days run from approximately 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM and are led by a full-time camp director. Volunteers assist with activities, mentor campers, and help ensure a safe and positive experience—no formal training or trade experience is required.
