GBCA Active Members and invited guests participated in a dinner with John J. Dougherty and Ryan Boyer on October 9 at Water Works by the Philadelphia Museum of Art. John J. Dougherty is Business Manager of the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council AFL-CIO and Business Manager of IBEW Local 98. Ryan Boyer is President of the Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council AFL-CIO and Business Manager for the Laborers’ District Council of Metropolitan Philadelphia & Vicinity. Mr. Dougherty and Mr. Boyer both spoke about the state of union construction in the Philadelphia region.
The evening’s centerpieces were provided by GBCA Affiliate Member, Richard S. Burns & Company, Inc., a material recovery facility serving the Philadelphia area for 4 decades. All the materials used for the centerpieces come directly from their facility. The sedum was cut from Burns’ green roof, the wood and bottles were reclaimed on-site, and the cement is from the facility’s cement silo.
