The City of Philadelphia Department of Streets will increase the rates imposed for street closures. The new fees will go into effect on October 21, 2018.
GBCA along with other local development organizations pushed back on the proposed increases last fall. We requested a hearing and proposed changes that we believed would not negatively impact construction and provide stability in the local market while also generating increased revenue for the department.
While the City did not implement all of our suggested recommendations, they did agree to include our suggestion to lower the maximum amount of permit fees per block each year.
