Congratulations to the student teams from Drexel University who came in first place at the 2018 Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Region 1 Student Competition!

Drexel University sent two teams—Commercial Building (coached by faculty member Dr. Kenneth Sands II) and Heavy Civil (coached by faculty member Dr. Christine Fiori)—and each won first place in their respective categories! Pictured above is the Commercial Building Team.

The competition had student teams assemble a complete written bid proposal for a real project being built by a sponsoring firm. The comprehensive proposals included detailed cost analysis, schedule, labor requirements and plans to do the work itself. Teams then presented their proposals to the sponsoring firm’s representatives in a closed discussion forum.
