Girls Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey is holding a Day of Service on Saturday, January 13, 2018. In anticipation of the event, they have asked NAWIC to help them build library boxes to give to local schools and the community. Along with help from GEM Mechanical and the Carpenters JAC, NAWIC is looking for additional volunteers to help with the following:
- Carpenters (men and women) to help pre-cut wood on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Carpenters Apprentice School located at 10401 Decatur Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154
- 5-8 women volunteers to help on the Day of Service, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Girls Inc. located at 1501 Cherry Street Philadelphia, PA 19102
- Paint and paint supplies
- Plexiglass sheets (16″ sheets 1/8″ thick) for library box windows
- Utility knives, metal straight edges, and gloves for the girls
- Borrowed nail guns and battery charged screw drivers for use
