GBCA is helping construction workers access higher education. An education in Construction Management is more than sitting in a classroom: GBCA is working to reach agreements with colleges and universities in the Philadelphia Region to have the instruction and experience of an apprenticeship count as credits towards degree programs in construction-related fields.

GBCA has reached agreements that allow the Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Committee’s Carpenters’ Apprenticeship Training Program count as college credits.

Community College of Philadelphia:
Associate’s Degree in Construction Management

  • Carpenters who have completed the Carpenters’ Apprenticeship are awarded 18 credits towards the 63-credit program.
  • Union Carpenters working for GBCA members or contributors to the GBCA administered IAP fund can apply for GBCA’s Tuition Reimbursement Program to help fund their degrees!

Rowan University:
Online Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management

  • Carpenters who have completed the Carpenters’ Apprenticeship are awarded 35 credits towards the 120-credit program.
  • UBC members receive a $55 discount per credit hour.
  • Union Carpenters working for GBCA members or contributors to the GBCA administered IAP fund can apply for GBCA’s Tuition Reimbursement Program to help fund their degrees!
