Since its launch in 2014, The Labor Show has featured in-depth conversations with key voices from labor, politics, and business. On Saturday, May 10, 2025, GBCA President & CEO Ben Connors and Board Chair Maura Hesdon, General Manager of Shoemaker Construction Co., joined the show with JDoc & Krausey—Philadelphia’s premier radio program dedicated to the labor community.
During the broadcast, Ben and Maura discussed GBCA’s history and impact on the region’s construction industry. Representing the union commercial, industrial, and institutional construction industry across the Philadelphia area, GBCA is one of the oldest trade associations in the country. The conversation highlighted the organization’s mission: to support member contractors and serve as a resource on industry-wide issues including education, safety, advocacy, labor relations, and workforce development. A key focus of the episode was GBCA’s close partnership with the region’s building trades unions.
