GBCA President & CEO Ben Connors recently joined Executive Leaders Radio for a conversation focused on how early life experiences shape leadership philosophy and long-term impact.

Hosted by Herb Cohen, the episode brought together four executives from different industries to explore the influence of family, upbringing, work ethic, and early passions on the way they lead today. Ben reflected on growing up in Fishtown and Moorestown, his early exposure to trade associations and public policy, and how those formative experiences prepared him to lead a 135-year-old member organization rooted in service and stewardship.

In discussing his role at GBCA, Ben emphasized the responsibility of guiding an institution with deep history while continuing to move it forward. The conversation underscored how values instilled early in life — hard work, accountability, resilience, and commitment to community — continue to shape leadership decisions and organizational culture.
