As we continue to evaluate the coronavirus and its effects on the Philadelphia region, we want to make our members aware of updates regarding GBCA’s response. At this time, one of our primary goals is to support our members in maintaining a safe and healthy workforce.

Our response is preventative and is designed to keep our members, our staff and their families healthy. Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, GBCA’s office will be closed to the public through March 31, 2020. During this period, GBCA will continue to operate during regular hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST) and all employees will be available and responsive for the entire workday, every day. While staff may periodically be working on site, all are being encouraged to work remotely whenever possible.

Operationally, GBCA members may expect full and complete business continuity, delivered virtually. Many of our members may already be implementing similar procedures, and GBCA has made a point to provide all employees with the appropriate tools and technologies to continue “business as usual.” All expectations of GBCA staff will be met without exception.

In an overabundance of caution and on the recommendation of state and local officials, we will postpone in-person events that were scheduled for the coming weeks. We will follow the guidance of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), as well as, state and local health departments, to determine when we can begin to lift these measures.

Additionally, to practice further “social distancing,” any GBCA committee meetings that were scheduled to be held over the next few weeks will be held via conference call or through the GoToMeeting platform. Committee members will be contacted with the appropriate information.

Our priority is the health and safety of our industry, co-workers, communities, family, and friends. We feel that it is our duty to actively participate in the effort to reduce the spread of coronavirus, as we continue to lead the industry and build the region. GBCA members should not hesitate to reach out if they have any questions regarding these updates. We will continue to provide updates as circumstances change.
